Today marks the 5 month point, woohoo and holy crap! Only 4 more months until my due date! Today in the elevator someone asked if "I'm ready." I feel that we are prepared, but I don't know if either of us feels 100% "ready" to bring a child into this world. It's such a huge responsibility. I don't know if I'm "ready" to push something the size of a small watermelon out of "down there." That kind of scares the crap out of me. I'm confident that I'll be able to do it but it's hard to think of myself actually doing it. I am ready to teach our baby about the world and am ready to watch him/her take the world in and to teach me things.
A few things about this month (found this checklist online somewhere)...
How far along? 5 months or 22w4d
Weight gain/loss: 10 lbs
Maternity clothes? That's a big yes on pants, I've been wearing them for a few weeks now. I can still wear most of my prepregnancy shirts.
Sleep? Sleep is pretty good. I'm not waking up to use the restroom as often, I guess because the baby moved up off of my bladder. I miss sleeping on my belly and it's hard not to lay flat on my back.
Best moment this week? Dom has been nesting like crazy, it's awesome coming home to a clean and straightened up house and so nice that we finally have the kitchen and sunroom painted!
Food cravings: Nothing major. The other day Dom and I were out shopping and I got a craving for frozen yogurt. Thanks to my droid we were able to find the closest TCBY and got some :-)
Belly button in or out? Still in but it's not as deep.
Movement? Last week or so I "played" with the baby by tapping my belly when I felt a kick. We went back and forth a few times so that was pretty entertaining. Movement still isn't consistent but it's often. I guess I can thank my lovely anterior placenta for that.
What I miss? Wine and Orange Crushes, I'm a lush I know but I really do miss a nice Orange Crush in the summer and relaxing with a glass of wine on the couch.
What I'm looking forward to: 24 weeks = Viability! Less than 2 weeks away!
Milestones: We passed the mid point and felt kicks this past month!
